Ok, I know this is so typical me but went round to Tom's last night and his flat mate, Marcus, was one of lucky people to have registered to be able to play the Halo 3 beta.

Now, what I had heard so far had made me suspect it would be Halo 2 with some add ons so I did not have too high expectations and to a large extent thats right. BUT it was damn good fun. The game principle is still the same as 2 but the graphics are way way sharper, the movement and feel of the master chief is really smooth and the new weapons are very cool.

The return of the old machine gun from Halo 1 is very welcome but above all the new mounted machine gun rocks. Mainly because you can unmount it and walk aroun blowing people to hell. The landscape is also much improved with things blowing into bits with satisfying loud noices at the right moments which also helps the place feel a little more real.

If you didn't like 2 you probably won't like 3 but given how popular that was you can't hold it against Bungie banking on a concept that works.

Just had a strange conversation.

A friend of mine at work complained that he is going to have issues ever going to China because of all the packages he gets queried by customs that he sends through (he works in the post room). He finds this to be a bit of a pain as he would have liked to see the great wall of China.

As ever I did my Italian tourism office bit and pointed that its a long way to go when the Colosium is far more impressive. Once my national pride is removed I accept the great wall is a superior feat of engineering but this was not his reason for discounting the colosium.

No, his reason was that the colosium was made by slaves therefore doesn't count as Italian or even Roman engineering! Now, I ask you, is it reasonable to assume that the people who lugged rocks accross China to build the worlds biggest garden fence to keep were all happy volunteers with nothing better to do?!

So I had a good day at the office on Thursday night. No, not at work but at my other office.

Good night's work but I am not about to quit my job or anything because of it.

Something very strange came over me this morning. I had a sudden and powerful need for Cheese and Onion crisps. Now, I only really ever eat salt and vinegar and have long viewed cheese and onion as the devils work in a bag... Combine this with the thought that the can of Pepsi I am drinking is superior to Coke and you have to agree that I must coming down with something!
